Description

This is a reproduction tikka, part of an Indian wedding jewellery set. A tikka is worn across the head to hang over the forehead, and is traditionally used at ceremonial or special occasions. Jewellery is a very important part of a woman's dowry in Indian weddings and is usually made of high quality gold. This piece is a copy, purchased for the museum by members of the Factory Community Centre Asian Women's Group.
